Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 6, 2026
Peripheri is built on a single principle: your location belongs to you and stays on your device. This policy explains, plainly, what the app does and does not do with your data. It reflects how the app is actually built, and you can verify every network request in the app's built-in Network Log.
The short version
- Peripheri has no account and no login. We never ask who you are.
- Your location is processed entirely on your iPhone and is never transmitted to us or anyone else.
- We run no analytics, ads, trackers, or third-party SDKs that profile you.
- We operate no server that receives your location. The only data our servers send you is a public camera dataset.
What stays on your device
All of the app's core work happens locally: matching your position against the camera dataset, deciding when to alert you, drawing the radar, and keeping your settings and alert history. Your alert history is coordinate-free by design: it records a camera type, an hour-rounded time, and a distance bucket, never where you were.
Network requests the app makes
Peripheri makes a small, transparent set of network requests. Each one appears in the in-app Network Log. Only the first is automatic; the rest happen only if you choose to use a feature.
- Camera dataset sync (automatic). The app downloads a public, signed camera dataset. This request asks for a dataset by version, and it structurally cannot contain your location.
- Route Preview (opt-in). If you plan a camera-avoidance route, the start and end points you enter are sent to Apple Maps to compute directions.
- Radar road overlay (opt-in). If you enable the optional road overlay on the radar, a map image of your area is fetched from Apple Maps.
- Report a camera (opt-in). If you tap Report a Camera, the pin's location and the camera type you choose are sent for review. Nothing about you or your device is included, and you confirm each report before it's sent.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email, contacts, device identifiers, advertising IDs, browsing activity, or your location history. Because there is no account and no analytics backend, there is no profile of you to collect.
Purchases
Peripheri Pro is sold through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. Purchases and subscription status are handled by Apple; your entitlement is verified on device. We do not receive your payment details. Apple's handling of transactions is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Camera data & attribution
The camera dataset is derived from public, community-maintained data based on OpenStreetMap, provided under the Open Database License (ODbL). If you report a camera, you're contributing to that public dataset, not to a private profile.
Children
Peripheri is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and the version distributed with the app. Material changes will be reflected here.
